When you think of pearls, what image comes to your mind? Most likely, it is a picture of a gorgeous, classy woman wearing a long strand of pearls with a strapless – or a little black – dress. Or maybe a woman wearing a single short strand of pearls, a modern choker, a pendant or a pair of pearl earrings at the office, while running errands, or having lunch with her girlfriends.But a real man wearing pearls? Unless he is a pirate – not very likely, right?
Well, just the opposite. Pearls can look awesome on man, and there are many photos that can prove it. Just google “men wear pearls” and check it out. You may be surprised to see your favourite actors wearing pearl earrings or pearl bracelets. The colours and styles are often so subtle that we may not even notice they are wearing any jewellery at all.
Many celebrity men wear pearls – and they look darn sexy wearing them, too! Some simply love wearing jewellery and choose quality pearls as a symbol of wealth, beauty, and sophistication.
Sometimes it is more than a fashion statement.
In 2018 you could see actors and other celebrities, including Tom Hanks and Sterling K. Brown, wearing pearl pins during the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes to support Time’s Up movement that’s focused on combating sexual assault, harassment, and inequality in the workplace.
